Attendance Codes

The attendance reports have codes assigned to absences and tardies. Below is a list of the attendance codes and code specific information:

1. U--Unexcused Absence
   • There are three days from the date of return to submit an excuse for the absence.
   • Truancy charges may be filed if a student has three or more unexcused absences within a four week period, or ten or more absences within a semester.
2. A--Excused Absence (Handwritten note from parent)
   • There are three days from the date of return to submit an excuse for the absence.
   • After ten A's, each additional absence will be coded as a U, unless a doctor's excuse is submitted.
3. M--Excused Absence (Medical Doctor's Excuse)
   • There are three days from the date of return to submit an excuse for the absence.
4. Z--Student missed a part of the day and returned to school on the same date with a doctor's note for the period of absence.
   • This does not affect the student's attendance, and will not disqualify them from any Perfect Attendance recognitions.
5. G--Sent home by nurse.
   • Please submit a written excuse to the attendance clerk upon the student's return to school.
6. T-Tardy
   • The student arrived in the classroom after the 7:45 bell.
